Puzzle pieces[1] are objects in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and its Nintendo Switch port. They appear exclusively in the Puzzle Plank Galaxy. When they are ground-pounded, puzzle pieces change position or launch into an accompanying divot. Like many other objects that can be manipulated with a Ground Pound, puzzle pieces have the Ground Pound symbol on them. A puzzle piece in the shape of an H can be seen at the very beginning of the Puzzle Plank Galaxy.

Picture blocks, a type of puzzle piece, appear in the Puzzle Plank Galaxy as well.
